Tudor has been in the headlines quite a bit this year, especially with the brand’s new releases in Watches & Wonders. These new releases include an updated version of the Tudor Black Bay with a sunburst dial and MT Series movement for a more elegant look. But today’s story is about what I believe to be the legitimate ancestor of this line of watches, the Tudor Oyster.
With so much interesting news surrounding the 2023 release of Watches & Wonders in recent months, I thought paying attention to a vintage watch was worthwhile. For those who have only dabbled in new or current replica watches, the humble Tudor Oyster is a watch that can truly serve as your first foray into vintage watch pride.
The Tudor Oyster is a little gem. Featuring a Rolex Oyster case, a design named for its water resistance, the Tudor Oyster is essentially a version of Rolex’s iconic design but with third-party movements. Many of these are from movement manufacturers such as ETA. The Tudor Oyster is a more affordable and accessible version of its Rolex counterpart without sacrificing quality, truly establishing the modern Tudor philosophy (I’m looking at you, Tudor Black Bay Pro).
The most common Tudor Oyster is 34mm wide. However, Tudor also makes other sizes. Among them is a 38mm version (with a useful 20mm lug spacing). Collectors call these Tudor Oysters “Jumbos.” The case design will be familiar to anyone who has tried on a vintage or even a new (smaller) Rolex Oyster Perpetual. The case fits nicely on the wrist and the 34mm size makes these a truly unisex watch. My partner really enjoys wearing my Tudor Oyster Perpetual. 7962 with the hand-wound ETA movement. The silver dial of this Tudor watch works quite well with several different colored straps, which means this watch can easily be dressed up or down.
They sound like words taken from medieval poetry. However, these three words have a special meaning for collectors of TUDOR watches. That’s because the wide range of Tudor Oyster dial designs you can find is simply fascinating (go online and you’ll see what I mean). The Tudor Oyster had small and then large roses on the dial at one particular time in the late 1950s and 1960s.
Later, the rose was replaced by the famous shield symbol that many of us are now familiar with. The Tudor Oyster, with automatic movement, also developed a “smiley face” text to inform consumers of this fact. This text has the straight line “ROTOR” above and “SELF-WINDING” below in the shape of a crescent or smiley face. This text does not appear on all TUDOR Oyster automatics, but it adds a sense of playfulness when it is on the dial.

Your first decision is to invest in a Rolex watch. Even if you consider different traditional and modern designs, take the time to consider what kind of strap or bracelet you prefer. There are many benefits to owning a Rolex watch with a Rolex Jubilee strap. The same is true for watches with Rolex leather straps. While you can always count on quality materials, one type may suit you better. Here are a few points to consider as you continue your search for the perfect Rolex watch as well.
Being outdoors does mean that choosing to use a steel Rolex Jubilee bracelet is a good choice. This material will not be affected by sweat and is durable. You will also find that it is much easier to keep in pristine condition. You can opt for leather, but be aware that even the highest quality options will absorb odors that may be difficult to remove over time. For Rolex Oyster steel straps, a thorough cleaning every now and then is all that is needed.
When it comes to your leisure time, it’s always good to think about adopting a more relaxed style. For dining out, dating, and spending time with people in different social situations, you may find that a leather strap with a few small designs can be a good representation of your personality while also providing insight into your ability to recognize quality. Likewise, you may find that a steel strap for office work looks good in casual settings. Remember if you have a watch that needs a strap change and you usually reserve this replica watch for recreational time rather than work time. Tissot is known for pushing the boundaries of watchmaking. This is most evident in their PRX line of watches. These replica watches have an 80-hour power reserve – almost twice that of a typical mechanical movement. This is great news if you only wear your watch a few times weekly.
I recently acquired a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 with the famous integrated strap – especially the blue dial version. I wanted to learn more about it than the power reserve and to see how it would wear. Here’s what I found and some of my thoughts on this long-lasting watch.
The PRX Powermatic 80 looks bigger than it is. This is because the case has a wide tonneau shape, measuring 40mm wide and 39mm high. The dial is round, which leaves a lot of exposed brushed steel.
The case is made of 316L stainless steel, which is highly corrosion-resistant. Despite its wide and tall shape, it doesn’t feel too bulky. This is mainly because it is only 10.9 mm thick, including the bezel with a smooth face and a semi-circular cross-section.
The crown is located at 3 o’clock and has a knurled perimeter to make it easier to handle. At the top, you’ll notice an engraved Tissot “T.” The crown is also screwed down, which helps increase the watch’s 100-meter water resistance rating.
Around the dial’s circumference, you’ll notice short, ultra-thin cut lines at the various minute markers. The hash at the 5-minute marker is a bit larger and noticeably longer, with a white stripe down the center. There’s a double hash at 12 o’clock, while the hash at 3 o’clock is somewhat abbreviated. It is immediately adjacent to a date window with a corresponding silver border. The date window itself has black Arabic numerals on a plain white background.
Another feature of the Powermatic 80.111 is the titanium balance spring. Standard ferrous metal springs can be affected by magnetic fields, which can affect the accuracy of the watch. Titanium mostly ignores magnetic fields, making the fake watch much more accurate.
That being said, there are other options. Different colors will come in different colors of leather. You can also order alternate straps in some colors. For example, the blue version is also available with an integrated belt.

If you could sum up Rolex’s mission, from the very beginning, it was to make watches that were simultaneously highly luxurious and extremely robust.
It was a process that the brand originally patented in 1933, but it was not until the late 1940s that it found its first application and spiritual home on the Datejust. However, this look proved to be ahead of its time and did not gain popularity in the early days.
As for gold, replica Rolex used different grades of precious metal during its run. The lower grades were found mainly in the American market, where 14K was the purest gold that could be legally sold in the United States between 1934 and 1974. During their formative years, manufacturers also used 9K.
This was all part of their transformation from simply being the best watchmaker to the ultimate lifestyle brand. With the invention of quartz technology, the traditional watchmaking fraternity was forced to reposition itself as a status symbol, trading on its artistry and heritage rather than price and accuracy; they were unlikely to win against the new electronics.
Due to the high concentration of precious metals, 18K gold is the most expensive grade used in the watch industry and is clearly reflected in the price of watches. The weight can also be surprising, as these models are obviously heavy.
In addition, the brand combines different colors of gold with steel to give each model its own personality. Currently, the copy Rolex Everose Rolesor is proving to be particularly popular, offering a visual effect with a pleasant warmth. The yellow Rolesor is the most traditional and the easiest aesthetic to get in and out of fashion.
White Rolesor, on the other hand, is the most neutral, with shades of gold and steel that look similar at first glance before the subtle sheen of the precious metal shines through. Interestingly, for the white Rolesor piece, Rolex only uses gold on the bezel, while the rest of the watch is stainless steel. For the other two types, precious metals make up the bezel, the winding crown and the central bracelet links.

I love all Rolex, and the Submariner is one of my favorite watches. Still, in the last few days, ever since ZF announced the Vacheron Constantin Overseas watch, I’ve fallen in love with it, and to be honest, I prefer the simple and atmospheric design of the Overseas. I want to buy one right away, but at the moment I’m a bit confused because I found two models I like, one is the standard ZF Overseas model, and the other one I will talk about is the 8F factory Overseas tourbillon model.
You must know ZF. It is one of the biggest fake watch factories in this field, but you may not be familiar with 8F. I don’t know much about this factory, but sometimes the Overseas you want can be found from 8F and not from ZF. So, for now, if you want a standard Overseas model, I recommend 8F and ZF. Regarding this Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon, both 8F and EUR factories produce it.
It is a VC Overseas with a real tourbillon movement. This watch has a blue dial, and it comes with three strap options, a stainless steel strap, a blue leather strap, and a blue rubber strap. Maybe this is the first tourbillon watch from the 8F factory, and the quality is nice. ZF still doesn’t make this brand watch. I don’t know if they will make it in the future.
The case is made of 316L stainless steel, its diameter is 42.5 mm, and its thickness is about 10.5 mm. The case is brushed, and the bezel, a special feature of VC Overseas, is inspired by the Maltese cross, the Vacheron Constantin symbol. The bezel has a polished and brushed part, creating high contrast and giving the wearer a strong visual effect. 8F factory has made a very thin case, but it is still a bit thicker than a real watch.
The dial is blue, and the window that opens at 6 o’clock shows a working tourbillon mechanism. The two central hands and the hour markers have white luminous material applied to them. The tourbillon you see on the dial is real since there is a real tourbillon movement inside, and this watch has a high price tag. By the way, this is a manually wound tourbillon movement, which you will know when you check it through the crystal back. Like I said above, the EUR factory also has these replica watches, but they are much more expensive. Maybe they use a better tourbillon movement.

Some of Rolex’s most popular watch collections are timepieces developed specifically for certain sports or lifestyle activities. However, this mentality – having different watches for different activities – was actually something Rolex only started to embrace in the 1950s. On the contrary, when the Rolex Datejust was first invented in the mid-1940s, Rolex’s core goal was to make a reliable and accurate watch that could be worn all day, every day, in any situation its owner might encounter.
So while many Rolex replica watches have certain features or functions that make them particularly suited to a certain sport or environment, the Rolex Datejust is simply a classic style watch that shows the time and date and nothing else. However, while the model may initially seem rather mundane compared to its sports watch siblings, it is the timeless and instantly recognizable beauty of the Rolex Datejust that has made it a true industry icon and the best-selling Rolex watch of all time.
Available in as many different variations as there are grains of sand on the beach, the color-changing Rolex Datejust has been with us for over 70 years. It has been the model that most people think of when they hear the name “Rolex”. Here are the variations of the Datejust in terms of size, material, bracelet, and bezel.
Neither as formal as a President or Cellini, nor as straightforward a tool as a Submariner or Daytona, the Rolex Datejust easily falls between these two areas – an ideal combination of style and substance, with enough versatility in size, metal, and finish to be the only watch you’ll ever realistically need.
Thirteen years later, Caliber 2135 became the movement of choice for ladies’ and mid-size Rolex Datejust replica watches from 1983. 2135 provided a useful date function for the Datejust 31mm and 26mm watches.
With similar case sizes, the Lady-Datejust and mid-size Datejust models shared the same self-winding movement. The 1135 movement was introduced in 1957 and replaced by the 1166 movement in 1967. In 1970, Rolex began fitting the then-new Caliber 2035 to the two smaller Datejust models. 2015 saw the introduction of Rolex’s new caliber 2236 with an anti-magnetic Syloxi hairspring and an improved 55-hour power reserve.

First introduced in 2002, the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra was designed to be the brand’s “go anywhere” timepiece that works equally well on land and in the water. Different from dive watches specifically designed for underwater use and scuba diving applications, Omega Aqua Terra replica watches do not have a rotating chronograph bezel and at first glance, they could almost be mistaken for a slightly sportier rendition of a more classically styled dress watch. However, despite their refined appearance, all OMEGA Aqua Terra models have screw-down crowns and case backs and offer users water resistance to 150 meters.

Those familiar with OMEGA’s various Olympic Edition replica watches will probably find these new Aqua Terra models quite familiar, as they essentially follow the same format as the limited edition models released in the summer of 2019 during the countdown to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Notably, the new 18K yellow gold OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 Edition is available in two different sizes. One has a 41 mm case diameter, which is (more or less) a solid yellow gold version of the stainless steel model released back in 2019. The other, however, is a 38mm version that essentially follows the same overall design aesthetic but builds on the Aqua Terra’s updated 38mm platform with its softer overall lines of oval indexes and round date window.
However, while the steel version has rhodium-plated hands and hour markers, these new versions have hands and hour markers made of gold that perfectly match the yellow gold case. In addition, just like the stainless steel version, the display case backs of these solid gold fake watches are adorned with the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games logo.
